About Capital Region CPSO
Welcome to the home page of Capital Region CPSO, a division of the Texas Creative ProbleSolving Organization (TXCPSO). Currently TXCPSO is one of the largest affiliates of a larger national and even global organization, Destination Imagination.
Capital Region CPSO includes the counties of Lampasas, Burnet, Williamson, Travis, Hays, Caldwell, Bastrop, Lee, Bell, Coryell, McLennan, Falls, Limestone, Fayette and Lavaca. Included are all school districts, private schools, parochial schools, home schools and other organizations located within the boundaries of the above counties. To participate in Destination Imagination events, each school puts together one or more teams which are tasked with solving a variety of mentally challenging, critical thinking problems.
Competition is a large part of how the Destination Imagination system works, and by producing creative and successful solutions to the given challenges, teams can win regional tournaments and climb the Destination Imagination hierarchy to state level tournaments and even national level tournaments.
Ultimately, both Capital Region CPSO and Destination Imagination aim to develop problem solving skills, teamwork abilities, and help nurture creativity in their participants.
